100+ Head-Fier
I do not think i am going to have as expensive end power hungry headphone as the Susvara, so no worries.
Can you notice any discernible difference in speed between these high end tube amplifiers compared to solid state amplifiers? My new Envy Performance Edition in American Walnut.
Looking forward to getting well acquainted with it.
No I meant excepting Roon, because Roon is a well understood item. Like "AudioPhile" based on Arch. You said "excepting Roon?", did you mean "accepting Roon?" (I make grammar mistakes all the time, not judging, just want to clarify.)
If you are saying "accepting Roon?", if you have any computer at all, you can use it as a roon remote and roon server (downloadable software on Roon's page), unless it is really old. If you have a usb cable you can go right into a DAC. If you need to connect to a roon endpoint, you can try a RaspberryPi running RopieeeXL (you will still need a computer with the Roon server and remote installed). You would then connect the RaspberryPi to your network via ethernet and then the RaspberryPi to a DAC via USB.
If you have more questions you can PM me or there are a bunch of different threads and googles/youtubes (sic) that go over how to set it up.
The GS-Xmk2 is the only SS amp I have the most experience with after owning it from ~2018 - and to be quite honest I think it depends on your headphones and the entire synergy of your entire chain - because both my SS and tube amps do not suffer in the speed department in my chain with my headphones, although some of my headphones sound slightly faster than others. Hope this helps. Can you notice any discernible difference in speed between these high end tube amplifiers compared to solid state amplifiers?
