Lol. Infinite is probably also my favorite Caldera I've seen. Enough to remember the name of it. Hopefully the custom shop will be help out some people envious of thy neighbors.
Yeah hoping I can find someone who has one and make an offer on it!

Does ZMF ever discount its HPs at shows or special times of the year? If they do, what discount would they provide? Tks.
I don’t want to generalize, but a Caldera I was considering at CanJam, which would sell for $3700 (Ltd wood) was being sold for $3200, and no sales tax. Still kicking myself. Also, for the ZMF November sale, there will be B-stock units at a discount, and most have only the tiniest of imperfections

So far what I enjoy the most about the caldera is how textured music and stringed instruments sound. Stringed instruments in particular have a certain vibrato I’ve never heard in other headphones. Couple that with amazing dynamics and it’s pure bliss.

I’ve been the biggest Atrium stan for a long time, but Caldera may be taking the cake…

Does anyone have any recommendations for music that has a lot textures/sounds going on?

I’m generally surprised at how good Travis Scott’s music sounds on caldera haha. Open to all genres though!

I am happy to hear that the Calderas are bringing something different to the table. I just got some Atrium Opens but when the chance to buy stabilized resin Calderas came up I had to jump on it.

I am kind of hoping that both the Atriums and Calderas both have a spot and bring something different depending on what I want to listen to.

Also after seeing all the hype I swapped my 2nd pair of pads to the Caldera thicks and I am looking forward to it all coming in.

Here are some genres that Caldera especially specializes in:
- Haken, Polyphia, Agent Fresco, Rishloo, Porcupine Tree, Soen, Caligula's Horse, Riverside and many more for progressive metal.
- The Aristocrats, Oz Noy, Dirty Loops, Cory Wong, Alain Caron and countless many for jazz fusion and jazz funk.
- The Strokes especially Is This It album is incredible on the Caldera.
- 311, Dirty Heads, Stick Figure and many more for reggae rock.
- Every kind of film score.

Owning both, I think they both bring something very unique to the table.

Comparing stock pads on each,
Caldera is more analytical but still extremely musical. It has a kind of unique laid back sound, that I’ve only really experienced in Meze products prior. Listening to the caldera is a relaxing experience.

Atrium for a long time was my favorite headphone ever (dethroned by the Utopia) but what the atrium excels at is the staging and the level of warmth it has in the sound. The bass hits hard and dynamics feel like being slapped in the face. I prefer the atrium for slower songs and recordings that give a feeling large soundscape. Also prefer it for 80s pop as well.

I think they both provide something different, I prefer the caldera for the quickness of its driver on more modern music, and the atrium in any slower bpm setting or acoustic music.

The atrium is the only headphone that ever made me cry though haha, James Blake- Life is not the same is so impactful on the atrium.

I am loving my Caldera. It is the only HP I need to force myself to take them off. I had neck pain for a week after I bought them. Now, I got smart and I use a traveling pillow around my neck to assist with weight bearing.

I have this great 2 channel speaker tube amp, the Synthesis A40. Love this amp. This is not a HP amp, but, wow, it sure would be nice to use it with Calderas. Is there anyway I can do this? It does have variable preouts..

Ha that Brown Malee is beautiful but it can be heavy! Especially with Gold/Steel grille's.

Ahh, I was curious how this Caldera compared weight wise with the others. Now I know. I have the #539 LTD Brown Malee Overrun. I am the second owner. It is truly a piece of work for sure. Watching your video now on the Caldera close.

@harris4crna you can get a custom cable 4 banance speaker out to a single 4-pin XLR female (to which you could plug your calderan with a 4-pin XLR plugged cabled (if you custom order one, just specify how far the right and left channel duos are from each other, so they are bunched up into a single cable with enough room to split behind the amp). can do same with spades or whichever you prefer using amp side.

I do this with my old Decware Taboo SE84TS+ integrated tube amp into the Caldera and love it.
